Chapter 1 - Amnesia (Part 1)

I was in the hospital when I woke up.

I couldn't understand it, but when I woke up, I could see the white ceiling.

I stretched out my left hand and looked at it, and my blurred vision became clearer.

I wondered how long it had been since I had been in this state.

The word hospital kept spinning around in my head.

Without getting up, I stared blankly at the ceiling for tens of seconds.

Suddenly I felt a weight on my right thigh.

A sudden shiver ran down my spine.

I don't remember what I was doing, or maybe I was confused.

I was confused.

In such a state, the weight on my right thigh made me so nervous that I wanted to vomit.

I was afraid to notice it. Afraid to lift my torso and see again what the problem was.

So if I can't move my legs ......

If I have trouble moving them...

Given the situation, this was more than possible.

I bit my lip hard and lifted my upper body vigorously.

...... There's a woman.

A woman?

A woman was lying face down on my thigh.

" . . . Um, are you okay?"

Obviously that wasn't right, but the words came out of my mouth naturally.

Her long, golden hair hung back, reflecting the sunlight.

It was well-groomed hair.

It rose and fell silently, with regular movements.

If I listened carefully, I could also hear the sound of her breathing.

She was using my thigh as a pillow.

I didn't know who she was because I couldn't see her face, but I guess because of the situation, she was taking care of me all the time.

The woman's face was invisible, so it was hard to tell who she was.

However, how about using the patient's thigh as a pillow?

"Um, ...... hello."

I poked her left arm with my finger.

She didn't wake up.

I tried to stab her again.

She still didn't wake up.

This time I shook her body while saying

"Hello.

Even under such circumstances, the feeling of being softer than a man's body did not change.

With a tic, the woman's body moved.

[Mmmm!?]

The girl raised her face so forcefully that I was surprised as well.

Big blue eyes and a delicate nose.

Transparent liquid dripped from her small, cherry-red lips, probably from the effects of deep sleep.

Judging by her expression, she was about my age.

There was a few seconds of silence as her gaze shifted to me.

[. . . Wow!? When did you wake up!? When did you do it!? Why did you wake up when I was sleeping!?]

She became so nervous when our eyes met that I involuntarily looked away.

The loud voice was a little disconcerting for someone waking from sleep.

There seemed to be no one else in the room but her and me, but even so, I expected her to speak more softly.

Instead, I felt that the content of what she said was a bit harsh.

"That's a good greeting. I can wake up at any time."

She blinked in response.

"What is the problem? I heard you didn't have any trauma, but did you hit your head?"

"Uh...?"

"Because we haven't talked lately."

...Really?

As the situation indicates, this pretty girl spent so much time visiting me that she fell asleep.

In other words, she is a very close friend.

How could there be a time when I didn't even talk to such a person?

Even with a confused head, her cuteness hasn't changed at all. Her beauty is constant.

A beautiful appearance builds a strong position among men.

I wonder if I have an iron heart not to talk to such an existence.

But to be sure, looking at her doesn't cause any bad feelings.

It's just the opposite.

" . . . Um. When did you mean lately?"

" Huh? I don't know, maybe a couple of months. I think we've barely spoken since our sophomore year of high school. .... Don't tell me you forgot?"

"I forgot."

"Hiiii!"

"No, you're wrong."

I quickly stopped her as she was about to pinch me with her hand.

She seemed hesitant, probably uncomfortable with my attitude.

"Are you okay? For now. I need to call a doctor."

She lifted her hips and said this as if she remembered.

As I walked by, I heard the sound of the nurse's call button being pressed behind me.

"I already called them. They should be here soon."

"Who are you?"

"Huh?"

"Who are you?"

The words that came out of my mouth were colorless.

They lacked any emotion. No emotion could be expressed in them. The flat tone of my question made her lips tremble.

"What are you saying?"

"Who am I?"

The door opened in an instant.

The first sounds of a stranger's life echoed in my head.
