[LN] Koroshitai Gāru To Tasatsu Shigan-sha - Volume 1 - Chapter 1 - Part 2

Chapter 1 - Shinigami and Murder Victims (Part 2)

Three days later. Ten minutes before 1 p.m.

Leaving the school's club activities once a week, I visited a nearby coffee shop. The decor was modern, with a mix of Japanese and Western styles. Retro-style antique furniture and sundries were neatly arranged. The floor was covered with a plaid carpet.

Following the clerk's directions, I sat down at a table in the left corner. The rust-colored sofa creaked.

Ten minutes from now. The girl who will grant my wish should be here.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting her. After all, it was just Shinigami's nonsense. I don't know what to believe.

In other words, what am I doing?

It's a really sad story for me. How can you take that person's words seriously? I didn't like myself.

Driven by shame, I looked around.

Hanako was probably watching me from somewhere and saw my shameful behavior.

... What was so exciting about it? A self-deprecating smile broke out at the absurd illusion.

Perhaps the illusion of "being seen by others" is the flip side of the confidence that "I deserve to be noticed by the people around me," and is the end of the expectation that "I want you to be the center of attention."

Through the side window, I checked my appearance.

Jeans with a gray hooded jacket. Next to it was a special school bag.

Security at its best.

"...Ha."

Laughing at her own false image. An employee walking outside quickly averted his eyes.

"Are you the one who wants to be killed?"

A languid alto voice. When I turned my face in surprise, there stood a girl with no expression.

Long, shiny black hair. A silver accessory resembling a fish gracefully floating on top of it.

Clear amber eyes. Pink lips. A sharp bridge of the nose. Snowy skin. Her expression was dark, but her appearance was neat.

She was wearing a high-necked gray-white knit. Over it was a denim dress, and her slender legs were covered with black tights. A cream-colored leather bag was slung over her shoulder.

I don't like her. A girl raised her eyebrows as if she could see my thoughts.

"Don't be silent, please answer the question."

 "Just be honest."

The disagreement from the beginning had already appeared. The Shinigami was not qualified to be a matchmaker.

Sighing, the girl sat down in front of me. Perhaps because she was small, she looked smaller when sitting.

"I am Migiri Urami, a junior at Shorenji Higashi High School."

I introduced myself politely. I replied immediately.

"Imai High School, third year, Yodokawa Minamo."

"That's a unique name."

"You are the same."

This letter was my complete defeat. The family name Yodogawa was a great loss.

At the same time I took a deep breath, Urami leaned forward and brought his face close to mine.

His large eyes, which had a strange appeal, did not allow her to move. The fruity scent caressed the tip of my nose.

Holding back a feeling of astonishment, chaos, tension and confusion, I asked her what she wanted while looking at her.

"Your eyes are double layered."

In a flat voice, Urami remarked without any particular intention.

"Is there something wrong with being double-eyed?"

"I'm not pointing out any problems. It was the result of a desperate search for your strengths. I have nothing else to praise."

"'There's not a single place to praise other than double-lidded' is a pretty harsh insult."

"Loud."

The moment I gave up, Urami raised her hand slightly and called the clerk.

The clerk appeared quickly and smiled. I thought it would look like this.

"...Bald hair, suits you. Have you thought about hygiene?"

"Oi! S-stupid. What are you talking about?"

This person desperately wanted to grow his hair, but to no avail.

We ordered again, scared by the rude question that suddenly appeared.

"I'd like an iced caffe latte, please. Oh, and a straw too." "

I'll have hot milk."

With a stiff smile, the (bald) clerk walked toward the kitchen with a note.

At the same time, I noticed that Urami was staring at me.

"Wh-What?"

When she asked in a hoarse voice, I swallowed softly.

 "Don't you like coffee?"

"Not at all. I just don't like it."

"From now on, please don't order anything but coffee."

"...... Huh?"

Confused by the incomprehensible statement, a caffe latte with a straw and hot milk was brought over.

After the attendant left, Urami took a sip of the latte and mumbled listlessly.

"I want to kill the person I love."

"So that's it?"

At that moment, I understood Hanako's meaning.

I wanted to be killed by the one who loved me, and she wanted to kill the one she loved.

If all goes well, both wishes can be fulfilled at the same time. That's what she meant.

She took another sip and continued.

"I won't explain it in detail, but ever since I was a child, I've wanted to 'kill the one I love. Wanted to love so much that I wanted to kill them."

Maybe she was a little nervous, her voice trembled slightly.

"I used to tell this to only a few people. There was a time when I told myself it was just my imagination and tried to give up."

"A few people, probably including Shinigami Hanako."

"But it was useless. My feelings are getting stronger every day. I want to

I can't bear to kill them."

...... It's the same thing.

I also want to be loved by someone, and I can't bear to be killed.

I met someone like me for the first time in my life. Unexpectedly, my zest for life increased.

"If this continues, I may end up killing someone I don't love. I can't die for a murder I can't accept, even if I am sentenced to death.

Exactly. If I were to be killed by someone I didn't love, I wouldn't be able to fully regret it. It would be more painful and humiliating than going to hell.

Urami turned pale, probably imagining the end of her life. She said with a hoarse voice.

"That's why I'm going to kill you."

 "Oh. That will help me."

I was so confused that I gave a vague answer. What the hell does that mean, 'I will be helped'?

"In return, please be the one to accept my love. Me too, please be the one you love.

"I understand. I will try."

At that moment, the first potential girlfriend in my life appeared because we happened to have a common interest.

The future girlfriend breathed a sigh of relief, picked up the menu, and tapped me on the back of the hand.

Stop it. Because it was very painful.

"If I can love you, I will stab you to death without hesitation."

"Have you decided on the method of killing?"

"I don't care if it's a bombing. Even the method is not like a place I can't reach no matter how hard I try."

"Please don't do the bombing. I don't know what caused that death."

Your first choice was strangulation. Obviously, his second choice was to be stabbed. It's confusing to decide whether the third choice was to be destroyed or poisoned. Speaking of which, drowning is the lowest.

Urami looked at me with a worried look.

"That's all from me. Do you have any questions?"

I asked without hesitation.

"You and Hana......, what is your relationship with that woman?"

"That woman, you mean the woman who calls herself Shinigami?"

I nodded at the question while frowning.

"That's my older sister, unfortunately."

The older sister who claimed to be a Shinigami and the younger sister who wanted to kill her lover.

It seems that they were not well brought up. I can't say anything about others either.

"However, my older sister does have advantages. She's good at everything."

"Isn't that an advantage for a older sister?"

"And she's good with his tongue, too."

"......I thought about it then, two-plated and bald-headed, if there is nothing to praise, I don't think you need to force yourself to praise.

You are not good at praising others.

Urami answered my real question with a serious look.

"No matter what kind of person they are, I try to find the parts I like and tell them about it. That way, maybe I can start to like them, you know?"

In other words, the only part she liked right now was the second level. I have a long way to go ......

Just as I was thinking about making eye contact, Urami suddenly stood up.

"There's no point in us just lounging around here. It's time to go."

"Eh? Where to?"

When I asked, Urami inexplicably looked at me with half-closed eyes.

"It's already decided. The clothing store."
